ANYTHING BUT PRECISE WORK WAS POORLY DONE THE FIRST TIME AND REQUIRED FOLLOW-UP. ALARMING LACK OF TRANSPARENCY IN QUOTING REPAIRS. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY. We called to get an estimate on a clearly broken spring (one of two). We were given an itemized list of all recommended repairs, some immediately necessary and others less urgent. The whole quote for repair was around $4k. We opted for the necessary repairs only. This included new springs, several door brackets and a new rail and belt. The total for these repairs was around $2k. The tech did the repairs, got payment and left. When I was able to assess the work later I found they’d failed to leave an emergency release cord attached to the door (minor but an inconvenience) and that the door slammed shut more forcefully than I suspected was necessary or proper. I scheduled another tech to come out to attach a release cord and make sure the door was operating as intended. They assessed the door’s function and found that the first repair tech had installed the wrong springs ($560/each) on the door and that this accounted for the heavy slam. They replaced the springs and recalibrated the door for no charge because, at 2 days old, the parts and labor were still under warranty. During the walkthrough after the second round of repairs I was told that a new door like the one we already had probably wouldn’t have been much more expensive than the (necessary) repairs we just paid for and would have included more new components than those we just replaced. Not only was I originally quoted repairs that were potentially almost double the cost of an entirely new door, the repairs we now feel we overpaid for required my layman assessment to be deemed substandard (supported by the next tech’s admission that the first guy would be going back to training). It’s unclear why the first tech wasn’t capable of making accurate repairs and it remains unclear why we weren’t quoted a new door if it would cost less than the piecemeal repairs. Oh, I see. That’s why. I do not recommend this company.

Issued fixed in less than 24 hours: Timeline (not exact, but you’ll see the point): - Monday 6PM: Garage door would only go up 6-8 inches, then stopped. - Monday 8PM: Called Precision Garage Door (PGD), automaTed lady (VERY realistic sounding by the way, almost had me fooled) was able to get an appointment for 12PM Tuesday (next day). - Tuesday 12PM: Technician (Salem) arrives on time. Immediately dives into troubleshooting the issue. - Tuesday 1230PM: Salem has identified the root cause of the problem. Begins explaining what issue is, how to repair/replace, and that he has all of the required materials to perform the task that day. - Tuesday 1PM: Service begins. - Tuesday 3PM: Service is complete. Walk through of the service that was compleTed. Payment. Hand shake. Thank you. Fixed in less than 24 hours of issue observed. Amazing. Shout out to Salem. True professional. Took time to explain and answer any questions I had.
