We were in a full pledged "panic" when we had to get to the hospital and our garage door wouldn't open. I called the phone number on the website and a REAL HUMAN answered! No automated system! I recognized the problem because our previous service tech indicated that we may have a weak spring. One of the springs broke and we're thankful that Precision could schedule a repair the next day. Tom did a great job and we were back in operation quickly.

Garage door just broke one afternoon after I got home when I hit the remote to shut it. I heard a funny sound and knew something wasn't right. Same thing had just happened to my neighbors a few weeks earlier. Called my neighbor and asked who they used to fix it and they referred me to Precision. Called Precision at 4:30pm and they were able to send Gregg out the next morning. They gave me an 8am to 10am window and he called right at 8am and said he was fifteen minutes away. When he arrived right on time he explained what had happened--the spring broke as well as the bracket. Also showed me the worn out rollers, cables and leaky ball bearings. Garage door was installed new in 2004 or 2005 and none of the parts had been replaced or serviced before. I went ahead and had everything replaced after his recommendation. According to his assessment, these parts typically wear out after ten years. Two hours later and 679 dollars lighter, the job was finished. I have no idea what other garage door service companies would charge for this kind of work. Gregg said I was getting a special rate advertised on their website. I took his word for it. I was emailed a receipt promptly and have saved the warranty information. As far as I can tell, everything works great and the job was done right. Ask me again in ten years if I am still at this address.

I was given explanation as to what would happen step by step and then was able to see the sturdier condition of the replacement springs and rollers. All was installed quickly and fully adjusted and repaired before I was given full inventory of parts and labor and service notice. The total cost was mentioned before any work was done and there were no surprises or change in cost when the work was completed. Very enjoyable visit with the mechanic and am looking forward to a long time before any future service.
