I debated between a 1 and 2 stars. Precision was quick to respond to our broken torsion spring and the tech was professional. That was the only good thing for them. In this area of Columbus there are many garage door repair companies and as due diligence called several to obtain a quote. I explained everything that was needed and what the issue was; gave them exact measurements of the torsion spring and that I would need 2. They said it would be $80-$250, max would be $250. When I called other companies it was anywhere from $220-$350 max for both springs and was upfront about their process. I confirmed that it was for both torsion springs and not just the one. They confirmed. Great! Went with precision. After the repairman looked at the springs, ball bearings, and the motor in all he said it was in all good condition and needs new springs. He did mention that the ball bearings were wearing down and they may have about 2-3 more years left in them. I asked how many and he said $240 for all bear bearings, $80 a piece. I said okay, worth it to keep it longer and not have further issues down the road. Then when all was said and done he said the total was going to be ~$800 taxes included. $800! How does $250 (max) plus the $240 for the ball bearings equal $800. The tech replied that each spring is $250. I told him what his coworkers told me and he said they don't know what they are talking about. They never know prices. Maybe the company should be more communitive between repairman and the office. Why quote different prices? So if you wish to pay three times what the quoted price is, go with these guys. I wish I would have said no and gone with another company that was more upfront and does free estimates onsite. If I would have said no to them they would have charged $50 for coming out. Go somewhere else if you don't want to be surprised with costs and be lied to about the quotes. I understand that quotes are just quotes but to be off by three times is ridiculous.

She cared what I had to say and how my experience went. I was not expecting any form of reimbursement or anything to really come out of this review. But the fact is they care about their customers and offered to make things right. They definitely turned this around from a 1-2 start to a 4 star. Thank you! (The only reason I wouldn’t give it a 5-star is because it wasn’t right the first time but thank you for making it right after the fact.)

I have used Precision Garage Doors on several occasions now. The technician has always been Matt Eberly. He is always professional and quite knowledgeable on the issue at hand. On a prior visit he advised on changing the springs on the door and I figured it was still working. Well, he was right, because the spring just wore out and I just replaced it. Excellent service always. Great professional, great company.

I am very pleased with the service that I received from the Technician Dave. Dave was very professional and understood my concern and urgency to have the garage door repaired. I just purchased a new vehicle two days ago and was very concerned about not being able to close the garage door. Dave took the time to examine the door and provided three estimates for me to choose. I selected the less expensive option because where I reside I rent and all repairs are covered. However, this being a weekend and holiday maintenance could not come out. Dave,knew I was concerned that I was hoping that door would operate safely and not cause any harm to me or my car. Dave, assured me that the repairs he was about to do would be the best and that I should not be afraid to use the garage door. Thank you so much Dave for being understanding and easing my mind. The bracket connecting my garage door to the opener broke on a Saturday morning. I called Precision and was pleased to hear that they could schedule an appointment the same day. Daniel arrived within the scheduled timeframe. He inspected every component of the garage door before explaining all of the issues that he discovered during his inspection. Our door was installed 15 years ago. Daniel pointed out the components, which were failing after fifteen years of use, that contributed to the bracket failure (worn springs, leaking bearings & rusty rollers). Daniel provided us with a number of options and their respective costs. He explained each option thoroughly. The options ranged from a replacement of the bracket, that did not address the underlying causes of its failure, all the way up to an option that would return the operation fo the door to “like new condition,” which would provide us with many years of worry free use. Daniel was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He cleaned up after completing the work and removed all of the parts that were replaced. We became aware of Precision after viewing one of their TV commercials and coincidentally passing their location near our home immediately prior to the failure of the bracket. While we are confident that we will not require their services in the near future, based on the quality of the work performed by Daniel, we will not hesitate to call them should we require any maintenance. We will recommend their services to our friends and neighbors.

I originally called because I thought the “eye” was broken and my door wouldn’t go down. I called and within 3 hours Dustin was at my door. The initial problem only required reconnection of a wire. I asked Dustin, if he had time, to check anything else that might need replaced. This opener is 20 years old. He quickly found some things that could be cared for that were either broken or could break soon (rollers, bearings, as well as what things were older and showing wear but didn’t need replaced. He provided an estimate which was very reasonable and within 1 hour my door was completely taken care of. So within 4 hours of my phone call my door was fixed. Dustin was an absolute delight! Friendly, pleasant, professional, and intelligent. Totally made me feel that I was his priority. This was an exemplary experience from start to finish that many other companies could learn from. I will use no other company in the future. Thank you Dustin and Precision!

Working w Precision Door is a dream come true. As far as I'm concerned there is no competition & there doesn't need to be. From step one they've been expedient, punctual, knowledgeable, personable, & our rep, Dustin, has been absolutely wonderful, explaining everything in great detail to make sure a less knowledgeable person, such as myself, understands, which I sooo appreciate! I also love how they try to send the same rep out to inspect & do the repair, if done separately, as was done for us. Dustin fixed our door in record time & it sounds so much better than it did before! He also let me do a trial run w everything including our garage door openers after to make sure it all worked, & it did beautifully. Their options for payment plans have also been so helpful in that we could go ahead & thankfully get this done. I truly thank Mr. Rapp, Dustin, the appointment setters, & everyone on this truly amazing, winning team. High integrity customer who doesn't like writing reviews like this. Tech arrived, inspected and recommended. I discussed my needs and desires with him. We needed springs, bearings. new bottom door seal and a new opener. Verbally quoted me $1300.00 After I picked myself up off the garage floor, I still needed this done. Approval to proceed was given. Work done to satisfaction, however the markup for the opener was outrageous and I spent $140 on a rubber strip that I helped install on the bottom of the door. Tech came to me with the final bill; $1479.00 So, enjoy the Bahamas or wherever you vacation. I called Precision hoping for highly intelligent diagnosis, and I received that, along with a charge that I feel was outlandish.

Precision garage door of Columbus Ohio did an outstanding job installing my garage door opener. My old one was 20+ years old and beginning to die. Did my own research and bought the Chamberlain Wi-Fi enabled model I wanted. Called around noon, receptionist was extremely courteous and took my information. Was scheduled that same day and technician Gary showed up less than two hours later. Tremendous service and timely manner. Gary was extremely professional and courteous and answered every question I had. He also told me some things I didn't know. He was so helpful, I could not have asked for anything better I hope I don't need them again any time soon but I guarantee I will call them if I have garage door issue. Precision has replaced my springs in the past and were great, so when things stopped working, they were the right company to call. The technician was down to earth and friendly. The fix was easy, but while he was here he inspected the rest of the door an opener and made a few adjustments.
