Our technician, Jason, was great! He was very knowledgeable about all of the products and the repairs that needed done to our garage door and opener. We had a new opener installed along with several other repairs that needed made. He made the whole process easy and simple. We especially loved that he was able to do same day repairs instead of having to schedule another appointment after we received the estimate.

The whole process from the start was very easy. Tom was my scheduled technician. He called soon after my initial call to Precision. He gave me an estimated time, and arrived a few minutes early. Columbus was on a level 2 snow emergency which Precision still made the appointment without issues. Tom was very professional and explained several options for me to choose from. He gave me an estimated time to finish which he was accurate on. Excellent workmanship. Door works much better and quieter than before. I called to get a estimate for a spring replacement. While the estimate for the spring replace was fair it would have been helpful for a new/first time customer to know that there are other parts that may need replacement. Parts that are not obviously broken like flanged ball bearings. The quote given by the technician only pointed on the difference in warranty prices. It would have been helpful if he pointed out what was being replaced. If I was given that information before hand I could have evaluated the bearings before the replacement. Better customer information makes for a happier customer.

Precision has replaced my springs in the past and were great, so when things stopped working, they were the right company to call. The technician was down to earth and friendly. The fix was easy, but while he was here he inspected the rest of the door an opener and made a few adjustments.

I debated between a 1 and 2 stars. Precision was quick to respond to our broken torsion spring and the tech was professional. That was the only good thing for them. In this area of Columbus there are many garage door repair companies and as due diligence called several to obtain a quote. I explained everything that was needed and what the issue was; gave them exact measurements of the torsion spring and that I would need 2. They said it would be $80-$250, max would be $250. When I called other companies it was anywhere from $220-$350 max for both springs and was upfront about their process. I confirmed that it was for both torsion springs and not just the one. They confirmed. Great! Went with precision. After the repairman looked at the springs, ball bearings, and the motor in all he said it was in all good condition and needs new springs. He did mention that the ball bearings were wearing down and they may have about 2-3 more years left in them. I asked how many and he said $240 for all bear bearings, $80 a piece. I said okay, worth it to keep it longer and not have further issues down the road. Then when all was said and done he said the total was going to be ~$800 taxes included. $800! How does $250 (max) plus the $240 for the ball bearings equal $800. The tech replied that each spring is $250. I told him what his coworkers told me and he said they don't know what they are talking about. They never know prices. Maybe the company should be more communitive between repairman and the office. Why quote different prices? So if you wish to pay three times what the quoted price is, go with these guys. I wish I would have said no and gone with another company that was more upfront and does free estimates onsite. If I would have said no to them they would have charged $50 for coming out. Go somewhere else if you don't want to be surprised with costs and be lied to about the quotes. I understand that quotes are just quotes but to be off by three times is ridiculous.

I have used Precision Garage Doors on several occasions now. The technician has always been Matt Eberly. He is always professional and quite knowledgeable on the issue at hand. On a prior visit he advised on changing the springs on the door and I figured it was still working. Well, he was right, because the spring just wore out and I just replaced it. Excellent service always. Great professional, great company.
